How to Apply

A guide to the Green Jobs certification application journey, including the requirements and the complete certification process.

1 — Certification Approaches

Before applying, determine the certification approach that best fits your enterprise:

  • Industry Approach — based on the green characteristics of your industry.
  • Product or Service Approach — based on a specific product or service (Third-Party Green Certification, or Green Parameters and Thresholds).
  • Process Approach — based on the green characteristics of your production or operational process.

Review the official Technical Guidelines to confirm which approach and requirements apply to you.

2 — General Documentary Requirements

Applicants must prepare and submit the following general requirements:

  • Completed Green Jobs Application Form
  • Sworn statement on environmental and labor compliance
  • Valid BIR Certificate of Registration
  • Applicable SEC / DTI / CDA business registration
  • Valid business permit or license
  • Accomplished Green Jobs Content Accounting Form
  • Applicable approach-specific documentary requirements

3 — Approach-Specific Requirements

Each certification approach has additional documentary requirements:

Industry Approach

  • Description of the enterprise's industry and its inclusion in the Green Industry List
  • Documentation supporting the green characteristics of the industry

Product or Service Approach — Third-Party Green Certification

  • Valid third-party green certification of the product or service
  • Documentation supporting the scope and coverage of the certification

Product or Service Approach — Green Parameters and Thresholds

  • Documentation demonstrating compliance with defined green parameters
  • Data or test results showing the product or service meets applicable green thresholds

Process Approach

  • Green Process Disclosure Form / description of the production or operational process
  • Documentation supporting the green characteristics of the process

4 — Certification Process

The complete certification process follows the steps below:

Application Submission

Applicant submits the completed application form and documentary requirements through the Green Jobs Online Portal.

Pre-Evaluation

The Green Jobs Certification Secretariat conducts pre-evaluation for completeness and initial compliance.

Compliance / Deficiency Handling

Where deficiencies are found, a Notice of Deficiency is issued and the applicant is given an opportunity to comply.

Technical Evaluation

The Green Jobs Technical Evaluation Committee conducts the technical evaluation of the application.

Report and Recommendations

The Technical Evaluation Committee submits its report and recommendations on the application.

Commission Review

The Climate Change Commission reviews the evaluation report and recommendations.

Commission Endorsement

Qualified applications are endorsed for approval through the appropriate channels.

Signing

The certificate is signed by the Secretary or the duly authorized signatory.

Issuance of Certificate

The corresponding Green Jobs certificate is issued to the qualified applicant.

Indicative Timeline

An indicative overall target of approximately 20 working days applies to the certification process, subject to the completeness of the application and the nature of the evaluation required. Detailed allocation per step will follow the approved Citizen's Charter.

A Notice of Deficiency may be issued where submitted requirements are incomplete or deficient. In such cases, the applicant must comply with the missing or deficient requirements for the process to continue.
