What are Green Jobs?
Employment that contributes to preserving or restoring the quality of the environment
Green Jobs are decent jobs that contribute substantially to preserving or restoring environmental quality — in agriculture, industry, or services. Their environmental contribution includes protecting ecosystems and biodiversity, improving resource efficiency, decarbonizing the economy, reducing waste and pollution, and supporting climate adaptation. As decent jobs, they are productive, uphold rights at work, provide a fair income, offer workplace security and social protection, and promote social dialogue.

Green Jobs contribute to environmental quality across five areas drawn from the Technical Guidelines. These environmental benefits come together with decent-work characteristics that also remain part of the Green Jobs definition.

Reduce energy, materials, and water consumption through high-efficiency strategies.

These environmental benefits are one dimension of Green Jobs. Decent-work characteristics — productive work, rights at work, fair income, workplace security and social protection, and social dialogue — also remain part of the Green Jobs definition under the Technical Guidelines.
Certification
What is Green Jobs Certification?
Green Jobs Certification is the formal process by which the Climate Change Commission recognizes jobs, enterprises, products, services, or processes that meet the green criteria under Republic Act No. 10771 and its Technical Guidelines. Certification follows a structured evaluation before a certificate is issued.
The specific approach — by industry, by product or service, or by process — depends on your enterprise. Detailed guidance on each approach, eligibility, and requirements is available under How to Apply.
Formal recognition under RA 10771
A Green Jobs Certificate recognizes that eligible activities meet the green criteria defined in the Technical Guidelines, subject to evaluation and approval by the Climate Change Commission. Certification does not imply automatic entitlement to incentives; eligibility for incentives remains subject to applicable certification and government requirements.

Validate Registration
The Climate Change Commission reviews and validates the enterprise registration.
Prepare & Submit Application
Select the applicable certification approach, complete the Green Jobs Certificate application, and submit the required documents.
Pre-Evaluation & Compliance Validation
The Secretariat checks completeness and coordinates labor and environmental compliance validation.
Technical Evaluation
The Technical Evaluation Committee evaluates the application against the Technical Guidelines.
Commission Review
The Climate Change Commission reviews the evaluation report and recommendations.
Certificate Issuance
When approved, the Green Jobs certificate is prepared, signed, and issued.
